Dominque left La Rochelle and the ongoing work on Mirabaud behind last weekend and headed to Switzerland for the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. He has raced this famous event many times at the helm of all sorts of yachts, but this time was different. On Saturday morning he boarded the CGN’s flagship, La Suisse, along with Mirabaud guests, and added his voice to that of the journalist Francois Egger for the start of the race.
The downpour at the beginning of the race did nothing to dampen the guests’ or the commentators’ spirits. It was a fast and spectacular start and the offshore sailor did it justice.
Dominique showed that he is as comfortable with a microphone as he is at the helm of an Open 60, juggling tactical options and strategies, sail choices and describing who is who among the crew members with ease. La Suisse followed the Bol d’Or Mirabaud fleet up until Thonon before turning back to watch the monohulls under spinaker – a fantastic show for the spectators!
